Matthias Schack-Arnott
Matthias Schack-Arnott is an Australian artist, composer and percussionist whose works span live performance, public art and installation.

Over the last decade he has been building unique kinetic systems to create visceral and visually compelling sound worlds. Described by The Guardian as ‘visually and sonically exquisite’, Matthias’ works have been presented by major festivals and contemporary art spaces including the Venice Biennale, Shanghai International Arts Festival, Chaillot Theatre (Paris), Noordezon (Netherlands), Spring Festival (Utrecht), Brighton Festival (UK), National Museum of Australia, Sydney Festival, Melbourne Festival, Adelaide Festival, RISING Festival (Melbourne), Supersense Festival of the Ecstatic (Melbourne), Dark Mofo, Arts House (Melbourne), The Unconformity (Tasmania), Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, La Comete (France), Spor Festival (Denmark), The Substation (Melbourne) and the National Gallery of Victoria.

As a collaborator, interpreter and improviser, Matthias has worked with many leading musicians including Steve Reich, Claire Chase, Unsuk Chin, Valerio Tricoli, John Zorn, Liza Lim and Steven Schick. Matthias has also created works with some of Australia’s most celebrated choreographers. He co-created They Want New Language with Antony Hamilton in 2017 for La Comete (France) and collaborated with Lucy Guerin on Pendulum for RISING Festival.

Aviva Endean
Aviva Endean is a sound artist, clarinettist, and performance-maker dedicated to connecting people with each other and their environment through attentive listening. Her creative practice opens up possibilities for collaborations, transcending the traditional in favour of a dynamic artistry which embraces the unfamiliar. Whilst deeply steeped in music, her vision extends beyond her primary artform to expand ways in which sound can be experienced and understood, and to discover new forms of expression that reflect the here and now.

Aviva’s career has been supported by significant opportunities and awards. She is currently an Ian Potter Creative Fellow 2026-27. She received the prestigious Freedman Fellowship (2015), and she was recently granted the award for ‘Excellence in Experimental Practice’ at the AMC APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards (2025). Associate Artist at Banff Centre in Canada (2019), and resident composer at The Peggy Glanville Hicks home (2021). Aviva’s solo music has been released on Room40 and SOFA music, and she has toured her work to major festivals internationally. She has worked in close collaboration with organisations including Chunky Move, Australian Art Orchestra, Chamber Made, and Liquid Architecture and is an ongoing member of ensembles Hand to Earth and The Cloud Maker.

Cahwati Sugiarto
Cahwati was born in Banyumas Indoensia. She has been in involved in numerous dance, music and theatre productions since 2000. Working with Slamet Gundono (in Wayang Suket), Garin Nugroho (in Opera Jawa, Selendang Merah, Nyai, Festival Malay, Pager Bumi and Satan Jawa) which toured to Netherlands, France, Melbourne, Jakarta and Solo. With Goenawan Mohamad, Tony Prabowo and Melati Suryodarmo in operas Sysiphus, Macbeth and Gandari which toured to Jakarta, Belgium and Frankfurt. She was involved on Deddy Luthan Dance Company, Sen Hea Ha productions (performed in Belgium, Netherlands, France, Singapore and Austria). She has performed as a dancer for Eko Supriyanto, Didik Nini Thowok, Fajar Satriadi, and other artists.

As choreographer, she made pieces such as Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk, Sang Nak, Ronggeng Manis, Bedhaya Idek, and Brantrara.

She has been working with Rianto since 2016. They presented Medium and have toured to Darmstadt, Australia, Brussel, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Texas, Prague, Italy, Bulgaria, Shanghai and so on. In Rianto's latest work, Hijrah, she is working as composer, and they have toured to DeSingel-Belgium, Rising Festival in Melbourne and Humboldt forum in Berlin 2022. With Rianto’s husband, Sri Waluyo, she founded and now runs the Tegal Art House Foundation.

Rianto
Rianto trained in classical Javanese dance from a young age, specializing in the cross-gender form of Lengger Banyumas- central Java. He graduated from Indonesia Art Institute in 2004, has been based in Tokyo since 2003 where he founded Dewandaru Dance Company, the Rianto Dance Studio and the Rumah Lengger Foundation in Indonesia.

He has worked with a spectrum of international choreographers, performance-makers and companies whilst remaining dedicated to his training and own voice for contemporary Javanese performing arts. Projects include working with Akram Khan Company, Sen Hea Ha, Chen Shi Zheng's Opera, English National Opera, Choy Ka Fai, Akiko Kitamura, Monica Lim and Melanie Lane.

Artist residencies include Art Bangalore, Staatstheater, deSingel-Antwerp, Nottle Theatre Company, NAFA, Lasalle University and Maya Dance Theatre, Amsterdam University of Arts, Shangri-La Islamic Center, Honolulu Museum of Art. From 2017 Rianto has been Program Director of Kendalisada Art Festival Lengger Bicara , Banyumas Ngibing and Bisik Serayu Festival.

Recent works include Hijrah, presented at Rising and deSingel, Jagad, presented at Arts House, and Medium production Keir Foundation, presented at Europalia Indonesia, Kaya, Esplanade Dans Singapore, Fusebox Festival, Supersense and Carriageworks.
