Enter an immersive installation and interact with an environment that reimagines our altered bodies as a physical space. Be prepared to shed your ideas about bodies… and perhaps try on some new ones?
Wellington-Whanganui-a-Tara-based artist Kelly O’Shea creates immersive and provocative installations that often require active engagement or participation from the viewer. These artworks explore themes of the body, its diversity, beauty and secrets.
POISE uses sculpture, sound and contemporary jewellery to reconsider popular thinking around the beauty and function of our bodies.
This event is part of BODY, a new major project from Arts House in partnership with Midsumma Festival amplifying the voices of trans, gender diverse and intersex peoples.
Supported by – BODY is supported by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body, and the Besen Family Foundation.
