The familiar whirr of film projectors sets the sound stage for an industrial manifesto on the economic value of labour and the clinical experimentation of beauty. Artist, film maker and intersex human rights activist Bonnie Hart becomes the ‘guinea pig’ in her own experiment in the durational performance and cinema installation HR.

With her body wrapped in plastic, Hart rides an exercise bike for three hours. As she cycles, projectors in the corners of the room are triggered with motion sensors by the audience. Throughout the performance she will harvest sweat in the same way tears are induced in rabbits during laboratory testing for beauty and sports products
