Three Landscapes is a new musical commission that brings together cult British jazz saxophonist and composer John Surman with Australian recorder virtuoso Genevieve Lacey and UK bassist Chris Laurence.
An architect of the European improvising scene and ECM stalwar, John Surman has recorded prolifically for the label since the 1970s collaborating with an astonishingly diverse range of artists including Jack DeJohnette,Gil Evans, Bill Frisell and now award-winning contemporary musician Genevieve Lacey.

The enduring pleasure of Surman’s art is the contrast of simple, haunting melody, lush orchestral textures and intense improvisation.
