Inspired by the stunning choral tradition of Peroveta Anedia (Prophet Songs), sensational young jazz talent Aaron Choulai undertakes an extraordinary cross-cultural musical journey. We don’t dance for no reason, AI NA ASI A MAVARU KAVAMU in Motu language, combines the talents of the 16-voice Tantana Village Choir from Papua New Guinea and Melbourne’s local jazz collective VADA for a very special concert experience.

As unique as Choilai’s Papuan/Chinese/Polish/Jewish/Australian upbringing, We don’t dance for no reason fuses the Peroveta song tradition and modern jazz against a backdrop of evocative film images to create something entirely new.
