Food and Taboo – Workshop and Panel Discussion

Join us for a two-part event exploring the deep ties between food, memory and resistance.

Facilitated by Sri Vamsi Matta, The Unwritten Recipes is a participatory workshop tracing personal food memories – the recipes passed down, the meals remembered, and the rules that shaped them. Vamsi will guide you to map the ingredients, methods, and social codes attached to your favourite recipes.

Following the workshop, Sri Vamsi Matta will be joined by Zena Cumpston (Barkandji woman, multidisciplinary artist and passionate food sovereignty advocate) and Rahaf Al Khatib (Beit Siti and Falastini Food Truck) to reflect on how food becomes archive, protest and connective tissue. Hosted by Priya Pavri (H_ME W_RK).

Light refreshments available from Beit Siti.

Thursday 30 October, 6:30pm
